This tabletop sculpture imagines Davy Crockett during the final assault on the Alamo on March 6, 1836. Petrides depicts the frontiersman, congressman, and folk hero amid the rubble of the mission walls, astride a destroyed 18-pounder cannon, holding a torch and a Bowie knife. Crockett died at the Alamo.
The sculpture was accepted by the White House as a Presidential Gift in 2025.
