The Greek Orthodox Church of the Hamptons installed this over-life-size bust of Constantine the Great, c. AD 272–337. He played a central role in establishing legal toleration for Christianity within the Roman Empire.
The sculpture depicts him at the Battle of the Milvian Bridge, fought outside Rome in 312; tradition holds that Constantine saw a heavenly sign of the cross and went on to victory.
