Egymonousa

Venizeleio-Pananeio General Hospital

For the Venizeleio-Pananeio General Hospital in Heraklion, Crete.

Egymonousa, Greek for “the pregnant woman,” is a series of standing pregnant figures, each about 110 cm high, handmade and slightly different from the others, as the Caryatids of the Erechtheion are alike yet individual when seen side by side. The series shares its subject with Aretaieia, the 220 cm figure at the entrance of Aretaieion University Hospital, and like it is made with recycled PETG.
